Loupenet Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Loupenet ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Loupenet mobile application ("App") available on iOS and Android. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Username
- Location (user-typed text only; we do not use GPS or location services)
- Password (stored as a bcrypt hash; we never store your password in plain text)
1.2 Profile Data
You may optionally provide additional profile information, including:
- Bio and avatar photo
- Skills and work experience
- Social links
- Creative persona
- Design milestone
- Purpose statement
1.3 User Content
Content you create and share through the App, including:
- Posts, photos, videos, stories, and reels
- Comments and reactions
- Direct messages and group messages
- Events you create or join
1.4 Device and Technical Information
We automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Operating system and version
- Device identifiers (Identifier for Vendor, or IDFV)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification tokens
- IP address
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (city or region level; not precise GPS coordinates)
1.5 Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the App, including:
- App interaction data (features used, screens visited)
- Timestamps of activity
- Activity logs
- Online status (via real-time connection)

- Referral codes used or generated within the App
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information through the following methods:
- Directly from you -- when you register, complete your profile, create content, send messages, or interact with features in the App.
- Automatically -- when you use the App, we collect device information, usage data, IP address, and push notification tokens.
- From authentication providers -- when you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic account information (such as your name and email address) from those providers.
- Camera, microphone, and photo library -- when you grant permission to capture or select photos, videos, or audio for use in posts, stories, messages, or your profile.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App -- create and manage your account, display your profile, and enable core features such as posting, messaging, and events.
- Facilitate communication -- deliver direct and group messages in real time, display online status, and send push notifications about relevant activity.
- Personalize your experience -- display content and features relevant to your interests and interactions.
- Ensure safety and security -- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms of service; verify user identity; and protect the integrity of the platform.
- Improve the App -- analyze usage patterns and performance to identify issues, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations -- respond to legal requests and enforce our terms.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 With Other Users
Your profile information (name, username, avatar, bio, and other profile fields you complete) is visible to other users of the App. Content you post publicly is visible to other users. Messages are visible to their recipients.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who process data on our behalf to operate and improve the App. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. See Section 5 for details.
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
4.4 Business Transfers
If Loupenet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy:

- MongoDB as our database to store account, profile, and content data.
- Socket.IO for real-time messaging and online status functionality.
6. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it, including:
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage; we never store plain-text passwords.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL).
- Media files are stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS S3).
- Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.
- We conduct regular reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. Specifically:
- Account and profile data is retained until you delete your account.
- User content (posts, messages, media) is retained until you delete it or delete your account.
- Technical and usage data is retained for a reasonable period to support App operations, security, and improvement.
- Legal obligations may require us to retain certain data for longer periods.
When you delete your account, your data is permanently purged within 30 days. See Section 9 for details.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access -- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction -- Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Deletion -- Request that we delete your personal data (see Section 9).
- Data portability -- Request a copy of your data. Upon request via email, we will provide your data in a structured, commonly used format within 30 days.
- Restrict processing -- Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Object to processing -- Object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent -- Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Device Permissions
You can control the following permissions through your device settings at any time:
- Camera -- Required to take photos and videos for posts, stories, and messages.
- Microphone -- Required to record audio and video content.
- Photo library -- Required to select existing photos and videos from your device.
- Push notifications -- You can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings.
Revoking a permission may limit your ability to use certain features of the App.
9. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the App by navigating to Settings and selecting the account deletion option. Upon deletion:
- Your account and associated personal data will be permanently purged from our systems within 30 days.
- Content you have shared publicly (such as posts and comments) will be removed.
- Messages you have sent to other users may persist in their message history, but your account information will be disassociated.
You may also request account deletion or submit any data-related inquiry by emailing info@loupenet.com with the subject line "Privacy Request".
10. Children's Privacy
Loupenet is not intended for children under the age of 13. We enforce a minimum age requirement of 13 at signup. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@loupenet.com.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your country.
When we transfer data internationally, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, including standard contractual clauses where required.
12. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following additional provisions apply:
12.1 Data Controller
Loupenet is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
12.2 Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
(a) Consent -- We process certain data based on your explicit consent, such as when you grant camera, microphone, or photo library permissions, or when you voluntarily provide optional profile information. You may withdraw consent at any time.
(b) Contractual Necessity -- We process data that is necessary to perform our contract with you (our Terms of Service), including creating and maintaining your account, delivering messages, displaying your content, and providing the core functionality of the App.
(c) Legitimate Interests -- We process data where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights, including improving and securing the App, analyzing usage patterns, preventing fraud and abuse, and communicating with you about your account.
(d) Legal Obligations -- We process data when necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, such as responding to lawful requests from public authorities.
12.3 Your GDPR Rights
In addition to the rights listed in Section 8, you have the right to:
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Request restriction of processing while a complaint is being resolved.

13. CCPA Compliance (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

- Right to delete -- You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to non-discrimination -- We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
- Do Not Sell -- We do not sell your personal information as defined under the CCPA.

15. Changes to This Policy
